Vic: Debs/Roberts jury retires for the day
The Supreme Court jury in the trial of two men accused of murdering two Melbourne policeofficers will start a fifth day of deliberations today.
The seven women and five men members of the jury began deliberating at 10.30am AEDTon Monday following a trial which started on August 14.
BANDALI MICHAEL DEBS, aged 49 of Narre Warren, and 22-year-old JASON JOSEPH ROBERTSof Cranbourne, have pleaded NOT guilty to the murders of Sergeant GARY SILK and SeniorConstable ROD MILLER.
The officers were gunned down on August 16, 1998, during a surveillance operation designedto capture two men responsible for a series of armed robberies in Melbourne's south-east.
