Richard Landry, CEO and editor in chief of NewMedia.com, is pleased to announce that Norm Meyrowitz, president of Macromedia Ventures (Nasdaq: MACR), will be presented with the INVISIONARY Award at this year's NewMedia INVISION 2000 Festival. Each year, an INVISIONARY award is given to three exceptional people who have pushed the limits of digital media to realize their creative vision and, in the process, have revolutionized the way digital content is created, packaged, and delivered. The award will be presented to Mr. Meyrowitz on November 3rd, as part of the NewMedia INVISION 2000 Festival.

Norm Meyrowitz is the president of Macromedia Ventures, a business designed to incubate and fund Web digital media and broadband Internet startups. Before running Macromedia Ventures, he was president of Macromedia Products, where he oversaw development, marketing, and P&L for all of Macromedia's product divisions, which include the Web Publishing, Web Traffic, and Web Learning business units. He also has been Macromedia's CTO and general manager of the Internet and Multimedia Authoring Technology business unit as well as senior vice president of engineering, vice president of engineering, and director of Strategic Technology. In these last positions, Norm led Macromedia's efforts in defining the next generation of multimedia player technology for personal computers, set-top boxes, and the Internet, as well as Macromedia's product integration, culminating in Macromedia's Studio architecture.
Prior to joining Macromedia, Meyrowitz was the director of software at GO Corporation, directing the groups that develop the graphics, handwriting, application frameworks, system applications, user interface, and international components of the PenPoint operating system.
He also served various positions at Brown University, including Co-Director and Co-Founder of the university's Institute of Research in Information and Scholarship (IRIS) system, a networked, multi-user hypermedia system that was a forerunner to the World Wide Web.
